The Simon Joyner Band is gearing up to do an ill-advised, expensive tour of the East Coast of America in July while gas prices are soaring and everything else is more expensive too. I'm hoping to raise some much needed cash to pay the band well and keep the van choogling throughout. You can help grease the wheels by purchasing new renditions of your favorite top ten songs (of mine) at $5 per song (or more). This will be a one-of-a-kind CD of home recordings chosen by you, a personal "Top Ten" playlist recorded in June and shipped out before the July tour. Anyone can purchase regardless of location or ability to attend any of the July shows. Each Made to Order CD will be packaged in a deluxe gatefold jacket, designed and screen printed by Sara Adkisson Joyner. I will inscribe, sign and hand-write your title selections. And each will of course be numbered 1/1 since they'll all be unique. It promises to be a true labor of love but a sweet little suite of songs guaranteed to keep the customer satisfied and arriving in a sturdy, handsome package!
So, revisit my albums, consider your choices and when you make your purchase on Bandcamp, please include in the "NOTE" section your list of choices for your "Made to Order" purchase in a desired sequence. Some very old songs may be difficult to remember but I will do my best to honor all requests! Here is your chance to hear a new recording of something I rarely play live, for instance, or something I wrote so long ago that I no longer remember the chords or words. I will have to go back and re-learn some, I'm sure. If you are purchasing a Made to Order CD as a gift for a friend, please include the information I'll need for the inscription as I will be inscribing all of these to whoever purchased them unless I hear from you otherwise. Also, if you want to purchase now but choose the songs later, just mention in the NOTE when ordering that you will email your list later and I'll expect your list sometime before June 1st.
You may of course purchase as many individual Made to Order CDs as you like and construct them however you see fit (all songs with "Blues" in the title, for instance, or all 3/4 waltzes, or all album closers, or whatever, it's your ten picks to do with what you want). This will be a huge undertaking but a lot of fun for me to do and should really help make the tour in July a successful one. I will accept sales of Made to Order throughout May but will need to mark it sold out June 1st so there's enough time for all the recording, screen-printing, assembly and shipping before July.
